I went on a hiking trip today and was able to see some beautiful fall colors. It was a wonderful display of God’s glory. As we read in Genesis, the Lord created seasons after He created the earth and vegetation.
Genesis 1:14-15, “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.”
I was also reminded of God’s promise in Genesis 8:22. After the flood, God said,
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
The changing of the leaves every year reminds me that the seasons will continue until the end of history. The fall leaves are a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness, throughout all time.
